Welcome to the Squat Skills & Progressions training course specifically designed for coaches. This course will teach you the benefits and fundamentals to help your athletes master the squatting pattern.

Learner Outcomes

  1. Teach the correct posture and setup of the upper body and torso.
  2. Teach the squatting mechanics of the body weight, front, and back squat.
  3. Initiate movement with the hips and loading the glutes as the primary hinge.
  4. Teach how to squat through the whole foot and not through the toes. 
  5. Demonstrate the proper alignment and tracking of knees. 
  6. Explain the importance of maintaining posture and load distribution.

Prerequisites

We recommend that you have preexisting knowledge of weight room safety prior to taking this course.  If you do not have preexisting weight room safety knowledge, please take our Weight Room Safety module first.
