12875 - Aggie Pharmacy Technician Program Admissions Application 2025-2026
Course Description
The Texas A&M University Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy proudly began the Aggie Pharmacy Technician Program (PTP) in 2023 to help solve the serious pharmacy technician shortage problem in Texas. The shortage in Texas is expected to grow even more in the next 10 years. The Rangel College of Pharmacy is eager to be a part of the solution to this problem. We are accepting admissions applications for 2025-2026 academic year.
Course Outline
The Aggie PTP curriculum is based on the internship model where students practice in retail or hospital pharmacies what they learn in the classroom and lab. When students begin the practice phase, they will become pharmacy technician trainees.
The graduates of the Aggie Pharmacy Technician Program (PTP) will be well prepared, and will meet the education eligibility, to take either the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) or the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT). Both certification exams are recognized in Texas and all other states in the US.
To apply to the Aggie PTP, enroll in this admissions application course and follow the instructions available in the course. There is a non-refundable $25 application fee.
